Recovering funds supports of the APEC Secretariat and the Ministry of Sceince and Technology, the National Sceince and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) hosted the APEC Resilience Week in Taipei during September 30 – October 2. In total, 13 member economies attended the event and the event focused on enhancing regional resilience.
NCDR has implemented a pilot project at community of Iloilo City, the Philippines, which actively echoed to “Build back better” in the Sendia Framework of Disaster Reduction. The project proposes “Plant back better” initiative that introduces knowledge of disaster risk reduction and selects more resilient plantation of vegetables and flowers. Through the project implementation, it improves both micro economy and food supply chain.
