NCDR hosted the APEC Resilience Week in Taipei during September 30 – October 2.

Recovering funds supports of the APEC Secretariat and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) hosted the APEC Resilience Week in Taipei during September 30 – October 2. In total, 13 member economies attended the event and the event focused on enhancing regional resilience.

NCDR has implemented a pilot project at the community of Iloilo City, the Philippines, which actively echoed to “Build back better” in the Sendia Framework of Disaster Reduction. The project proposes a “Plant back better” initiative that introduces the knowledge of disaster risk reduction and selects more resilient plantation of vegetables and flowers. Through the project implementation, it improves both the micro-economy and the food supply chain.
