International Workshop on Environmentally Green Technology and Clean Energy - Circular Economy Based Environmentally Green Technology for Sustainable Development

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promulgated by the United Nationals have triggered the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and other Asian and developing countries a great need on the development of cutting-edge technology to fulfill the SDGs in 2030. National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) has held an International Virtual Workshop on Environmentally Green Technology and Clean Energy during August 3 – 12, 2021 under the financial support of Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. A total of 135 experts from 11 countries was invited to attend this 9-day virtual workshop to closely discuss the recently developed technology on environmentally green technology and sustainable energy.

 

         Through the aid of social networking system and the well-established data of the Taiwan-Malaysia WISE Center, NTHU has received 201 applications from 14 countries in 2 weeks, and 65 experts from 11 counties including 2 Vice Rectors, 2 Deans, 8 Chairs/Directors, 1 CEO, and 2 government officers has been invited as the participants to attend the on-line workshop. The participants are mainly from Southeast and South Asian counties including Bangladesh, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Lao, and Madagascar. In addition, the workshop is also streamed to YouTube to increase the visibility and influence. Through this 45-h training course, the participants have learned knowledge in cutting-edge technology on circular economy and environmentally green technology. The execution of this on-line workshop has strengthened the academic and educational cooperation between Taiwan and New South Bound countries in the fields of energy and environment.
