International Symposium “International Collaboration in Water Affairs Innovation” successfully held at National Tsing Hua University

Taiwan is surrounded by the sea and is affected by the terrain and extreme climate. The surface water resources are difficult to converge and face problems such as insufficient water sources and mixed water quality. How to effectively purify water quality and recycle reclaimed water is a long-term and important research subject to Taiwan’s research institutions. 

 

The symposium was successfully held on April 20th, this time we invited Prof. Ruey-An Doong, from “Taiwan-Malaysia Innovation Center for Clean Water and Sustainable Energy”at National Tsing Hua University and Prof. Tsair-Fuh Lin from“Taiwan-Philippines Joint Water Quality Research and Innovation Center” at National Cheng Kung University, and 2 high-level partners of overseas academic and research units that the centers have been cooperating with for many years have discussed the scientific research capabilities of Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries on water issues. The Senior Vice President of National Tsing Hua University, Prof. Shih-Chang Hsin, gave a welcoming remark and the Director of International Affairs Office at Narlabs under the MOST, Dr. Franz Ming-Chih Cheng gave the introduction of the forum. The forum was hosted by the Director of Science & Technology Division at Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia, Dr. Suang-Jing Pong, to discuss potential areas of cooperation and solutions.
