The delegates of the Science and Technology Division, TECO in Vietnam and NARLabs visited National Metal and Materials Technology Center, in Thailand

Date: 2023-06-30

Under the financial support of National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) has closely collaborated with National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), Thailand to establish the Taiwan-Thailand Innovation Center for Clean Water and Sustainable Energy (WISE Center) since 2021. To understand the main results and possibly sustainable collaboration between Taiwan and Thailand, a total of 5 Taiwanese delegates, led by the Director and Counselor of Science and Technology Division, TECO in Vietnam, visited MTEC on June 16. Hosted by the Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Aree Thanaboonsombut, the Taiwanese delegates have fruitful communication with MTEC experts in the areas of water-energy nexus, zero carbon emission, and agricultural-based circular economy. Both sides agree that the reinforcement of mutual collaboration on agricultural-based circular economy is one of the most important areas for collaboration. In addition, MTEC is also in charge of the development of negative carbon emission technology, and the cooperation on the Food-Energy-Water Nexus of Mekong River Basin to estimate the carbon sink potential as well as the development of clean water and renewable energy is also the key issue for sustainable collaboration.
